A community, not a coin.
A community of TAO investors actively onboarding people from outside the ecosystem.
Memecoins brought Bittensor attention from outside the ecosystem. That was half the job, and it worked. The other half was never built: nobody stood at the door to explain what the newcomers had just walked into, so the attention looked around and left.
Vermilion exists to build the second half. The token is what gets attention in the door; the website and the Discord are what turn it into understanding.
A mechanic that converts a fee into TAO and pays it to holders. Real, verifiable, on-chain. Not a promise. A mechanism.
The Discord is the onboarding platform. Where people who've been in this ecosystem long enough guide the ones who just walked in.
Someone arrives having heard about a token that pays TAO, and leaves understanding what they were just paid in. That is the whole point.
- An earned role, not a bought one
- The people whose reads matter earn that status. They are not bought with an allocation, they don't get there by being loudest, and they don't trade on emotion. They look at the technical and the on-chain, and they say what they see.
- Price talk stays. Price-worship doesn't.
- Talk about the token, TAO, and the subnets is normal here, and nobody is pretending the prices away. What this room is not is only that.
- No roadmap of dates
- We don't do milestones with dates attached. The direction is written down and it is a direction, not a calendar. The community is the plan.
The easiest way to launch a token is anonymously. New wallet, new handle, no history, no reputation at risk. That is how most of these are done, for one reason: anonymity is free insurance against failure.
This project took the opposite path. A named founder is the only collateral that cannot be faked on-chain. Reputation isn't a feature bolted onto the token; it is the escrow. If this project fails, or worse, succeeds by deceiving anyone, the cost lands on a name attached to a body of published work about this ecosystem. That's the whole wager.
Launch is the start of the work, not the end of it. The website keeps growing as a knowledge-base, the Discord keeps onboarding people who arrived without knowing what a subnet is, and the treasury funds community outreach as the room gets bigger. There is no finish line and no calendar of dates: the direction is the plan.
The project's own account, @vermilion_tao, carries it forward, and the full mission-statement article (the launch mechanics, the case for the defense, and the verified/unverified/unknowable ledger) is on the articles page.
